This is a antique circa 1880s Mermod Freres music box. It originally had a lithographic print on the top that was destroyed (see before photo). It has the Mermod Freres tune label inside th lid. It has had some work done to the movement and I replaced 4 missing dampers. I also removed the litho from the top and applied a piece of teakwood  veneer.    There was a small previous repair to side bottom corner. I replace the missing corner supports and added some vintage brass tacks.  There are some small scratch/scuff marks on the original walnut box sides but they are minimal and to be expected for its age from normal use. It features solid brass bedplate marked with the number "7270" with an anchor stamp.  It has a 4 song changing cylinder that has 42 notes.   It has a sliding on off button on the front and a button on the side that will allow the same song to be repeated or set to change songs. The  playing quality and sound are excellent.     If your speakers are on you should hear a recording of it playing (use good quality desk top speakers for best quality sound).   Measurements in inches:  Height  = 2.25, Length = 5.375, Width =   3.375.
