This is one of my original hand crafted wooden musical boxes.  The sides are made from flaming curly maple and the top is pecan.  The wood has several coats of hand rubbed tung oil for a smooth semi gloss appearance which highlights the wood's natural colors, grains and knots.  The bottom is made from bass wood which optimizes the sound of the musical movement.    This box has a lift off top and there is a  jewelry compartment inside with a burgundy velvet bottom.  The Thorens musical movement was made in Switzerland. It  is protected by a plexiglass cover.  There is a sliding start/stop brass button on the side. When the button is in the off position the music will stop at the end of the song. The button is accented with a ruby red rhinestone.      If your speakers are on you should hear a recording of it playing.   Measurements in inches:  Height  = 1.875, Length = 8.25, Width =  4.125.
