This is one of my original hand crafted wooden musical boxes. It is shaped like a trunk or chest. The top is made from a natural air dried California apricot branch. The sides are made from flaming curly maple.  The box has miter cut corners and my signature wooden hinges.  It has  matte finish from several coats of hand rubbed tung oil. Then it was buffed with super fine steel wool making it silky smooth to the touch. This type of finish showcases the natural colors and grains of the woods.   The bottom piece made from basswood to enhance the volume and sound of the musical movement. There is a small green velvet compartment for jewelry or trinkets The new Reuge 18 note musical movement was made in Switzerland. Open the box and the music plays, close the box and it stops.
