This is one of my original hand crafted wooden musical boxes made from wenge wood. It is number, initialed and dated on the bottom.  The box has miter cut corners which are doweled for strength and my signature wooden hinges.  This box has steel hinge pins that are concealed by the end dowel.   It has several coats of hand rubbed tung  oil. The  result is a low gloss sheen that highlights the natural grains in the wood.   There is a small burgundy velvet compartment for jewelry or trinkets. The new Sankyo 23 note musical movement was made in Japan. Open the box and the music plays, close the box and it stops.
